The Media Council has launched its First Strategic Plan for the 12th Five Year Plan (2020-2023). This Strategic Plan has been developed as a blueprint for the development and promotion of media sector in Bhutan. It details the objectives of the Media Council within the context of the Council’s functions as determined in the Information, Communications and Media Act 2018.
Furthermore, this Plan will act as a guide towards improved institutional effectiveness and efficiency in the fast-paced media environment and also seeks to prioritize the protection of media freedom as well as impartial arbitration of disputes.
As we embark on this strategic period, the Media Council will continue to deliver on its mandate together with its partners and more importantly reach out to general public with its services.
